A unique opportunity to purchase an unusual and historic sailing boat that currently operates as a bed and breakfast business, moored in Port Aiguadolc, Sitges, 40km down the coast from Barcelona.

Willowmoon is a British registered 60 ‘gaff ketch, currently stationed in Sitges marina, a romantic and peaceful setting, perfect for both living and enticing guests for holidays.
Although no experience is required to run the boat (neither us or the previous owner had any sailing experience beforehand), prospective buyers with sailing experience could of course take her anywhere in the Mediterranean or even return her home back to the UK. We have owned the boat for 10 years, initially at Port Vell in Barcelona and now in Port Aiguadolc, Sitges, using the boat as a houseboat with the bed and breakfast business as our income.

The set up on board has one entrance for our living accommodation and a separate entrance for the guest area, which is perfect for privacy and giving the guests freedom to come and go as they please at any time. There is gated secure parking in our section of the marina, right outside the boat! The marina also has cctv around the wharves and staff patrols 24 hours a day. The marina itself can be reached by bus from the train station or by a scenic 20 minute walk along the coastal paths from the town center.
Facilities: The marina provides electricity and water from the wharf along with internet facilities through the wifi port. There are additional, shower, toilet and laundry facilities within the marina too.

History and Specifications:
The boat was originally named St.
Paul and was built for the Admiralty during WWII in 1942 as MFV27 and acted as a patrol boat around the coast of England primarily searching for German U boats and later in the Mediterranean in 1944. She was built in Looe, Cornwall, by Frank Curtis and is built of larch on oak frames with a 2 ”larch deck. The boat undertook a significant refitting in 1993, making her into the sailboat we see today with a 54 ”main mast and 2245 sq.ft of sail.

Length: 63 ‘
Beam: 19′
Draft: 8 ‘
Tonnage: 50 tons

Powered by a 1953 Mercedes Benz cylinder 150 bhp turbo diesel engine that can drive the boat at around 8 knots. There is also a 1966 Ford Diesel 80 bhp auxiliary wing engine that can also be used to drive an emergency bilge pump.

Equipment includes

  • 2 stainless steel diesel tanks (1000 liters capacity),
  • 4 stainless steel water tanks (1800 liters capacity),
  • 24 volt battery system charged by a new Mastervolt battery charger,
  • Cleghorn Waring pump for water system, F
  • urono radar,
  • liferaft,
  • hot water boiler.

Accommodation:
The accommodation on board is for 8 persons (3 in the guest area and 5 in the private quarters). The guest accommodation is described more fully on the Willowmoon website www.willowmoonbnb.com, but essentially comprises 2 berths (one double and one large single berth) below decks that can sleep 3 to 4 people and an en suite private bathroom that includes a lovely corner bath with shower attachments. Above decks there is a cozy seating area in the wheelhouse, with kitchen facilities including a small fridge and folding table mounted to the wall.

The private quarters are accessible down stairs from the deck midships. The layout is not like a traditional yacht, but more like a floating cottage with 6 ”oak beams. Doors and frames are of oak and most walls are pine with oak shelving. The stairs lead directly into the salon and galley area (17 ‘* 12’), heated by a woodburning stove. The salon has a large table and seating for six people, with storage space under the seats.

The galley area has a standard domestic oven and grill, five ring hob, fridge, double sink and under worktop storage space.

Starboard to the stairs is the shower room, with full height shower and separate wash basin and jabsco pump toilet.

Port of the stairs is the mid cabin with double berth, writing desk, wardrobe and additional storage.
Through the salon is the fore cabin with 1 double and 1 single berth, storage and steps up to escape hatch.

Through the fore cabin is the Bosun’s store with storage for sails and the anchor chain.
Each room has electric sockets (240 volts), 24 volt lighting and portholes.

The engine room in the center of the boat is large enough (17 ‘* 12’), for easy maintenance access to the engines and for storing tools and equipment. There is also an additional store aft of the guest area cabin.

One of the main features of Willowmoon is the large amount of deckspace. There is a hardwood breakfast table midships that can seat up to eight and plenty of space for sunbathing on the fore deck. There is also a canvas canopy that covers 2 / 3rds of the boat, providing shade and protection.
